Lions & Tigers & Bears
OK … bison and elk and bald eagles. Oh my!
I had a bison not two metres away from me on the road through Yellowstone. He eyed me. I eyed him. We passed with mutual respect. Then a huge herd of them crossed the road. I was nervous. A lady offered to let me sit in her car. I nearly took her up on it.
Then onwards and upwards to my highest point yet in the trip 8391 feet over Craig pass. I am quite out of breath. I wonder why? Oh, that’ll be the 8391 feet. Seems that problems with breathing start above 7500 feet. And then, just as I start to head down, the rain starts. The very, very cold rain. That turns to hail. I get cold. Very, very cold.
Oh look. Grant Village 2 miles.
I need a room please. A room with a heater.
That’ll be more money than you want to pay.
I don’t care. Take my credit card.
And now to the Grant Village Fine Dining Restaurant. Let’s feed the starving cyclist bad pasta and charge the earth. Well at least the SB was up to scratch.
So my advice is …. go to Yellowstone. Go see the geysers and bubbling mud pools and elk and bears and moose and bison. But don’t stay there. Don’t eat there. But do have a drink but speak with the bank manager first.
